MITHILA — Vice-Chancellors in-charge have been appointed to Alagappa University and Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. The new appointments have been put in place after the tenure of the previous Vice-Chancellors of both varsities officially ended earlier this month.
According to the Higher Education Minister, the current leadership arrangement could serve as a model for other institutions. The minister stated that if the appointment of in-charge Vice-Chancellors is found to be efficient, the arrangement will be extended to other State universities.
The step comes directly in response to the conclusion of the tenures of the Vice-Chancellors at Alagappa University and Manonmaniam Sundaranar University earlier this month. The functioning of the new in-charge leadership is now set to be assessed, with the Higher Education Minister indicating that its overall efficiency will guide future decisions across other State universities.
